Getting Started with AlertKick

Quick Start Overview

AlertKick setup involves three main components:

  1. Account Setup - Create and configure your AlertKick account
  2. Server Monitoring - Set up agent-based monitoring for your Linux servers
  3. eBPF Security Monitoring - Configure real-time security event detection

Prerequisites

Before getting started, make sure you have:

  • Root or sudo access to your Linux servers
  • Team member email addresses for notifications
  • Understanding of your server infrastructure
  • Network access from your servers to AlertKick’s monitoring endpoints

Setup Process

1. Account Setup

  • Create your AlertKick account
  • Configure team members and notifications
  • Set up timezone and regional settings

2. Server Monitoring

3. Security Monitoring

  • Create security profiles for sensitive file monitoring
  • Configure security alert escalation
  • Set up security event dashboards

4. Alert Configuration

  • Set up team rosters for on-call coverage
  • Configure notification channels
  • Test your monitoring setup
